This 386sq-km reserve was created back in 1922 in order to capture the area surrounding the 3618m mountain. This mountain is the highest south of the Columbia Icefield and greatly resembles the Swiss Matterhorn and it's almost pyramid shape. For that reason this mountain is sometimes referred to as the Matterhorn of the Rockies.
